На данный момент все производители ПК испытывают трудности в связи с задерживающимися поставками микропроцессоров семейства Broadwell производства Intel. Такая ситуация, безусловно, отразилась и на компании Apple, по слухам, запланировавшей выпуск MacBook Air с Retina дисплеем диагональю 12 дюймов уже в этом году. Это принесет определенные неудобства, однако не все так плохо: дежурное обновление версий ноутбука на 11 и 13 дюймов ожидается уже ближайшей осенью.

Изначально информация о возможном выходе MacBook Air с дисплеем высокой плотности пикселей (Retina) поступила еще в начала года от Минг-Чи Куо – сотрудника KGI Securities. Он уверяет, что предполагаемый компактный ноутбук с диагональю 12 дюймов станет не только более производительным и бесшумным (в отличие от обычного MacBook Air), но и обзаведется обновленным дизайном. Кроме того, он будет использовать процессор от Intel, который, однако, пока задерживается.
По сообщениям авторитетного издания Economic Daily News (Тайвань), задерживающиеся поставки чипов Broadwell окажут влияние и на запланированный Apple ноутбука MacBook Air с дисплеем Retina диагональю 12 дюймов. Предполагаемой новой датой выхода устройства тайваньский источник называет конец текущего или уже начало следующего года. Параллельно появилась информация о ежегодно осуществляемом обновлении 11 и 13 дюймовых вариантов MacBook Air, которое пройдет в соответствии с графиком.
Издание также сообщает, что компанией Quanta Computer, с которой тесно сотрудничает Apple, уже получены компоненты для сборки очередного поколения ноутбука. Запуск производства запланирован на август, а поставки первой партии устройства ожидаются уже в октябре текущего года. Тогда же стартуют и продажи модернизированного MacBook Air.
