Компания Apple снова отказалась от услуг TSMC?
В течение последних трех лет многие интернет-издания технологической направленности неизменно публикуют слухи об известном производителе микропроцессоров – Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC). По мере приближения выхода очередного iPhone всевозможные информационные источники гласят: Apple отказалась от партнерства с Samsung и подписала соглашение с TSMC, поэтому новинки компании теперь будут оснащены процессорами тайваньского производства.
TSMC возможно «осталась за бортом» партнеров Apple
По данным авторитетного информагентства Reuters все обстоит совсем иначе: Apple отказалась сотрудничать с TSMC, занимающейся выпуском процессоров для мобильных новинок по 14 нанометровому технологическому процессу (техпроцессу). Их будет производить уже проверенная многолетней практикой надежная партнерская компания Samsung. Производство чипов, собранных по указанному выше техническому процессу, будет поставлено на конвейер уже с начала следующего года. Такая информация основана на словах аналитика Майкла Лиу (KGI Securuties), посетившего конференцию инвесторов тайваньской компании и ознакомившегося с их ближайшими планами.
Стоит отметить, что отношения между TSMC и Apple довольно противоречивые. Так в конце минувшего года изданием Wall Street Journal была подтверждена информация о партнерстве между этими двумя компаниями. Ранее сведения о том, что TSMC трудится над новыми процессорами для мобильных устройств Apple, были опубликованы практически во всех СМИ. Однако по-прежнему именно Samsung остается единственной компанией, поставляющей чипы для iPhone.
В чем же причина такой ситуации? Разве тайваньская компания не в состоянии обеспечить должный контроль качества? По одной из версий, эти истории, начиная с 2010 года, на самом деле являются лишь хитро спланированными попытками менеджеров TSMC привлечь к себе внимание и стать объектом инвестиций. Надо заметить, что такие попытки приносят свой успех. В прочем, куда вероятнее всеже перегруженность TSMC заказами других компаний, а также проблемы с процентов брака.
